Fumigating the Flies on the Fries

For those of you who may not know of Jamie's obsession for fries, let me explain. When Chelsea and Jamie have their weekend outings (at one of two places: Copperjohns or Beamers), Jamie leaves (sober) with a burning desire to get McDonalds fries. On most occasions this poses no harm. Chelsea typically agrees to the need for grease and goes along with the plan. Last night Megan, Chelsea, and Jamie left Copperjohns (and Beamers) and headed straight for the drive thru at the golden arch. See below for the conversation between McDonalds Worker and Jamie:

McDonalds Worker: Hi, welcome to McDonalds we'll be with you in just a minute."
Jamie: "Okay, thanks"
McDonalds Worker: "Just to let you know we're fumigating so it's about a 5 minute wait before we can make any food."
Jamie: "Okay, first question: What's fumigating??"
McDonalds Worker: (LONG pause) "Uhhh...we have flies so we fumigated to get rid of them."
Jamie: "Oh right, I bet you really thought I wouldn't still be a customer cause I would be worried about the flies...but no, I still really want some fries, so we'll wait."
Megan: (asleep in the backseat) "Noooo, Jamie don't! There are flies on the fries. That's gross"
(Chels and I then reconsider getting Taco Bell instead).
Jamie: "Okay, actually we're going to go get Taco Bell but thanks for your honesty about the fumigation."

Onto Taco Bell drive thru...
Megan decides to "hit on" the Taco Bell workers in hopes of getting two free soft tacos (with no lettuce). Here are a list of her pick up lines:
"Are you a black sexy man??"
"Are you sexy?"
"Heeeey, you're sexy."
Please take note that these men were by no means sexy, but Megan thought of it as a polite gesture to make them feel good abut themselves and she explained to us that was probably the first person to compliment them all day...even though it was for her own selfish desire of free soft tacos.

We got our "less than 6 dollars" order and proceeded home to devour it and go to sleep in Taco Bell (not fumigated fries, McDonalds) peace.

Terror in the Night

How do you think you would feel if, in the middle of the night you're lying in your bed, no light, pitch black, and a barely any sound (chels sleeps with a fan every night), and as you're lying there sound asleep.....another human body comes creeping in your door, unannounced, prancing around on your floor, softly and quietly as can be only to stand right directly above you? Maybe a little freaked out? Possibly scared a tad? Well welcome to the new nightly routine  Chels now endures ever since Jamie lost baby blackberry. It has become a common occurrence, when Jamie is in need of a communication device in the wee hours of the morning....for God knows what. Or to talk to her babeska, perhaps send a love text during the night.

Thankfully Chels is a rather heavy sleeper, and only notices this freaky, horrific, Jamie would probably get kicked in her face if Chels did wake up, situation upon waking in the morning and having absolutely no sense of time and is trying to desperately find her phone to figure out whether she should feel bad about choosing to keep sleeping or wake up and get going with her day. Rough life. Who does that?! Jfay does that.

At The Same Time

I'm pretty into multi-tasking I've come to find out. One such instance is this thing I do, rather consistently in my apartment. I'll really want to watch a show that's on TV, or a movie, yet I'll be on my lovely laptop at the same time searching and seeking for music, downloading, discovering etc. It's pretttty hard to do both at the exact same time, what with the different sounds, yet my patience kind of wears thin and I can't help it, I just have to! Thank GOD for commercials. Thanks to the oh so creatively corny American advertising world, this in turn allows me to mute the television, take a break, and get on with my music listening. Sometimes I get a little stressed when I reallllllly want to keep listening to the song I've just found, yet the show is back on! What's a girl to do in a situation like that?! Finish the song out? Pause it and un-mute the TV? Listen to both at the same time? No no no no no,  it only makes it worse when you're listening to both at the same time. Makes you go crazy. It's kind of like that Tide pen commercial, when the guy goes in for his interview and he's talking and there's this little mouth on his shirt where a stain is and it's just yelling and talking jibberish the entire time to where you can not understand a single thing. I know you've seen it. This is highly not recommended. Trust me.
Once in a while I even dare to do this multi-tasking during one of Jfay's extremely intense and crucial political segments airing. Except I don't dare mute it ever. I just play the music verrrry gently. I guess until our TV breaks ( God forbid) or the Mac caves (it's gotta last me the next decade or two, that's when I expect I might at least afford to make some payments orrr something on a new one?) I'll be enjoying both.......at the sammmmmmme time (insert Rahzel voice here, you know the guy with 2 voice boxes)

"The Perfect Sunday"

Would you say it is pretty normal to watch 3 Lifetime movies, all in a row, and all that were titled "The Perfect Marriage", "The Perfect Neighbor", and "The Perfect Nanny"?? We had to cut ourselves off by the time we got to "The Perfect Assistant". We were oves. At that point in time we realize we had been sitting down on our couch for about 4 hours straight. We'll admit some light headed and dizziness kicked in upon our decisions to stand up and move.

This mini marathon was followed up by a short (real short) jog. Our bodies didn't want to, but our minds told us we HAD to. Our lungs for sure had it in for us the rest of the night. We headed to Safeway. Jamie considered bringing her bag of rice encompassing her broken baby blackberry along just to stick with her normal routine of having her phone EVERYWHERE she goes. We decided to leave the bag at home though, for fear of bringing it in the store, we might get targeted for stealing...a bag of rice. And a broken blackberry.

Some computer lurking, baking cake cookies, and one more movie later....here we are once more. On the couch. Watching CNN. What a "Perfect Sunday".

P.S.
On a more serious note.....pray for Travis Barker, DJ AM, and the 4 guys that died in their plane crash's families : (

Death of a Crackberry

It might be true. But we haven't lost hope yet. A lovely night out on the town in lovely Salem turned into a traumatic and most devastating event. An accidental slip of the hands, a splash and 10 seconds later....Jfay was without her lifeline. Literally. Under normal circumstances, no biggie, Buuuut the fact that this was her pride and joy, hard earned and very hard paid for blackberry, and also not to mention that her babeska is currently across the world in Aussie Land, this could make for a ROUGH few days we have ahead of us. We thought our friend was crazy when he suggested to put it in rice and let it sit. Yeah. Ok. But when we walked into the AT&T store this morning, where the guys already know our weirdo faces from the day the original purchase went down, we were suddenly the crazy ones. They always have the look on their faces, like, uh oh, what are these girls doing here again. After having a most socially awkward conversation with one of the workers, which included, but was not limited to,  asking us more than once in a 5 second time period if we had insurance on the phone. How many ways can we get creative with the answer No? And proceeding to ask us where did we go?What do you mean where did we go? Where did the tragedy take place? What does The Can Can have to do with anything? His detective work was making for a very odd face to face conversation. But alas, we arrived at the conclusion it was either fork over $200 bucks, orrrr, as previously suggested, put it all in rice! To soak up the moisture I guess. Should have listened to JTT the first time around. Now when you think of putting these parts in rice, we definitely had very different mental pictures of what this would like. Chelsea, assumed cooked rice. What? The guys saiiid to warm it up. Warm rice....warm cooked rice right? Wrong, way wrong, obviously wrong. Feels kinda stupid wrong. Why would you cook sticky wet rice, and then proceed to put an already water infested phone it it. Good thing Jfay was on their level, and first time around understood the dry rice concept. So after a quick trip to WINCO, and $2, not $200 later....the wait is on. 24 hour experiment here we go. I mean, the guy at AT&T DID say 48 hours, but after we freaked out on him and probably scared him shitless with our response to what it would be like to have to wait a whole 48 hours without a phone, the poor guy broke down and with a scared smile and a look of regret said, ok maybe just 24?? We'll of course let you know how it turns out. We're hoping for the best for baby blackberry....any prayers and words of encouragement are highly appreciated.....

Update slash Intro slash We're writing this more for our entertainment than yours.

We began our adventurous apartment lifestyle on January 1st, 2008. A new year, a new room mate, a new life. Or something like that. Little did we know the glitz and glamour was about to come to a hault...and fast. No we didn't get in a fist fight or anything like that, (unless you count chels taking the hair dryer overnight that one time, and leaving Jamie looking like a drowned rat at Travel Oregon that morning) If you've ever lived in an apartment, you know that getting bomb neighbors is crucial. We were not lucky in this. We had a young, pre-mature looking couple move in with a little 2 year old. Sounds not too bad, no biggie. WRONG! If it wasn't the moaning and groaning sex, it was Lil' Wayne singin about lollipops and stuff. Don't get us wrong, we love Lil' Wayne, deeply. You could even call Chels one of his biggest fans. But hearing him only sing of bottles in the club and shorties wantin to thugg over and over make you go a little cuckoo after a while and get a bit hostile. Sometimes the screams and snarls of the poor little 2 year old was too much to handle/really good insight to us both knowing we're not into havin babies any time soon. Sometimes we're still not sure if it was a dream, or if at one point we really did in fact snap, and Jamie actually did walk down the stairs (yes, in her booty shorts and uggz, whoops), knock on the door, and proceed to get into a huge shouting match (cursing involved, double whoops)......but, beyond all that, and the couple moving out a month later, but not before the female threw every single piece of clothing he owned and shoes and posessions included, out onto the lawn. And when we say lawn, we mean two feet of grass before the sidewalks hits for all to walk by. Sheesh...traumatic experience for all. Not really though...things soon died down and we were back to maxin and relaxin in our 2 room 1 bath copperfield apartment. Not a lot of excitement since. A few (very few) trips down to the exercise facility, and many trips down to the pool have made for a pretty lovely experience here. Apartment lifestyle ain't so bad. Not to mention we meet people we are neighbors with around town, ALL the time. Weird. So maybe this was a bit of a novel for our first publish ...whoops. We promise to go easy next time around.
